Bio
Robin de Jesús, born on August 21, 1984, in Norwalk, Connecticut, is an American actor of Puerto Rican descent. He gained prominence with his role as Michael in the 2003 independent film "Camp," which garnered a cult following among musical theater enthusiasts. De Jesús made his Broadway debut in "Rent" in 2005 and later originated the role of Sonny in "In the Heights" (2008), earning his first Tony Award nomination. He received subsequent Tony nominations for his performances as Jacob in the 2010 revival of "La Cage aux Folles" and as Emory in "The Boys in the Band" (2018). De Jesús has also appeared in films such as "tick, tick... BOOM!" (2021) and the 2020 adaptation of "The Boys in the Band." His work has significantly contributed to the representation of Latino and LGBTQ+ communities in theater and film.
