Los Pleneros de la 21 (LP21) is a community-based performing ensemble and non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the cultural legacy of Afro-Puerto Rican musical traditions, particularly bomba and plena. Their mission is to educate, engage, and inspire communities through accessible public performances, cultural workshops, and educational initiatives that foster appreciation for Puerto Rican heritage
Contribution to Puerto Rican Culture
LP21 has been at the forefront of revitalizing bomba and plena in Puerto Rican and Nuyorican communities for over 40 years. They have performed on global stages, including the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kremlin, and have influenced new generations of musicians and cultural ambassadors.
