Cándido "Candy" Maldonado is a retired Puerto Rican professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1981 to 1995. Over his 15-season career, he played for teams including the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and Toronto Blue Jays. Maldonado was known for his powerful hitting, amassing 146 home runs and 618 RBIs, with a career batting average of .254. He made history as part of the Blue Jays' 1992 World Series-winning team, becoming one of the first Puerto Rican players to achieve this honor. Post-retirement, Maldonado has contributed to the sport as a commentator for ESPN Deportes, sharing his expertise and passion for baseball.
